Bust dimes with proof strikes are extremely rare and should only be purchased when certified by a reputable grading firm. From a roster of 10-12 known examples of proof 1835 dimes, all are attributed as JR-4 with the sole exception of a single JR-1, which is considered unique.

Obverse Description

Liberty is portrayed, facing left, with cap on her head and the word LIBERTY on her crown. 7 and 6 stars on the left and right periphery, respectively with the date positioned in the bottom center.

Reverse Description

An eagle is centered in the design with a shield over its chest, holding arrows and olive branches in its talons. A ribbon above bears the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the periphery. The denomination listed as "10 C." appears at the bottom.
