Aside from the legendary 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter, the 1927-S has the lowest mintage with just 396,000 coins produced. With a Full Head this issue is the most rare and valuable in the entire series. Rare in any grade with Liberty's head having complete detail. Rare from AU through MS62. Very rare in MS63 and MS64 with an astounding jump into gem condition. MS65, MS66 and beyond are extreme 6-figure rarities.

Obverse Description

MacNeil's Liberty stands with one hand holding an olive branch, the other bearing a shield. A ribbon connects the branch to the shield. The world LIBERTY appears across the top periphery and the date is centered at the bottom. 13 stars appear to the side of Liberty. Mint mark, if any, is positioned above the date to the left of Liberty.

Reverse Description

An eagle in full flight, facing right, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above the great raptor. Stars flank the left and right peripheries with the words QUARTER DOLLAR at the bottom.
