The 1926-D Peace Dollar is one of the more common dates in the series. Luster is fantastic for this issue. However, striking is not as good as the Philadelphia minted issues making fully struck pieces worth a premium. Look out for die cracks as well. Common and very affordable in all grades up through the gem level with MS66 being scarce and MS67 being rare.
Obverse Description
Portrait of a crowned Liberty featuring the word LIBERTY at the top periphery. The motto IN GOD WE left of Liberty's neck and TRUST to the right. The date in centered at the bottom.
Reverse Description
Perched eagle standing on a rock facing the right with UNITED STATES oF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM at the top periphery. The denomination of ONE DOLLAR left and right of the eagle's tail and the word PEACE at the bottom. Mintmark, if any, appears below the word ONE on the left side.
