“1868” Dime. Obverse first used in 1863 for J-325 and related pieces.6 Research by David Cassel has revealed that these coins were struck in 1863 from a die erroneously dated 1868.

Obverse Description

Small shield at center with crossed arrows behind, wreath around most of perimeter. EXCHANGED FOR U.S. NOTES at border.

Reverse Description

Die as used on J-641 and related.
