The Parsons & Company half eagle obverse is inscribed Jno. PARSON & Co. ~ORO~ around a quartz stamping mill. The reverse depicts a federal eagle, the legend PIKES PEAK GOLD, and the denomination. Today we know of five examples: two of which are impounded at the Smithsonian, one of which was stolen from Willis DuPont in 1967, and the remaining two, both of which grade XF/AU, are privately owned, and on loan to a museum.
