The Close Date, Short Neck 1852 Wass, Molitor & Co. $10 is the rarest of the firm’s 1852 issues, with only eight known examples, four of which were found on the S.S. Central America. The finest known specimen is graded mint state, and all other examples grade XF or lower.

The Close Date, Short Neck 1852 Wass, Molitor & Company eagle is the rarest of the firm’s 1852 issues, with only eight known examples, four of which were found on the SS Central America. The finest known example is graded Mint State, and all other examples grade Extremely Fine or lower.
