1912 1c Matte Finish PR RD

The 1912 matte proof Lincoln cent is a very scarce coin in the absolute sense, as are all early matte proof Lincoln cents. Those who are unfamiliar with matte proofs may find it hard to distinguish these coins from their brilliant-uncirculated counterparts, though a closer look will reveal the differences. Matte proofs bear finer details, granular fields, and squared-off rims. As for the 1912 Red Proofs, these are much scarcer than their Brown and Red-Brown counterparts, with the coin quite difficult in PR64RD, rare in PR65RD, and virtually esoteric in PR66RD.
